The Anglican Diocese of Edmonton is one of four denominations, along with United, Roman Catholic, and Lutheran that sponsor the Inner City Pastoral Ministry (ICPM).

ICPM is an interdenominational Christian ministry of presence serving a diverse community within Edmonton’s urban core. Historically, a large number of Indigenous and Métis people name the inner city as their home. Many people of the community are marginalized, experiencing conditions of poverty and homelessness; many also face health and disability challenge and deal with addictions. ICPM ministers amongst these special people.

Highlighting the ministry is Sunday worship with the Community of Emmanuel, followed by the Sunday Lunch supported by 80+ churches, synagogues, a mosque, individuals and families. Mid-week ministry offers pastoral care within the community agencies, drop-ins, homes, hospitals and remand centres. Men’s and Women’s spirituality groups and retreats highlight the ministry. ICPM personnel also welcome opportunities to offer workshops and presentations t faith communities.

Our Common Ground is a ministry of reconciliation and healing introduced by ICPM in 2017 as an initiative in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action. Led by Michelle Nieviadomy, Iskwew Oskapewis (Helper in Cree),and an Ecumenical Advisory Committee, Our Common Ground continues to build healing and reconciling relationships within the diverse communities of Edmonton urban core and the wider faith community.
