All are invited to "On the Same Page with Different Pictures: Being Ecumenical," Sunday, November 3, 2019 at St. Matthias Anglican Church, 6210-188 St, Edmonton. Join local Lutheran, Catholic, Anglican, Reformed and (via the United Church) Methodist Christians to discuss, pray and celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification (JDDJ). All attending clergy are invited to robe and process (colour is white).

Schedule:

  • 2:00 pm Presentation by Dr. Gordon Jensen (Lutheran Theological Seminary, Saskatoon) with panel responses from reps of the five church communities: Lutheran – Faith Nostbakken (ELCIC-ABT Synod, Ecumenical Officer); Roman Catholic – Indre Cuplinskas, Associate Professor, St. Joseph’s College; member of Edmonton Lutheran (LCC)-Roman Catholic dialogue group) Anglican – Scott Sharman, Anglican Church of Canada and Diocese of Edmonton Ecumenical and Interfaith Officer); Reformed - Karen Norris or Jim Joose, past and current member of the Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations Committee of the Christian Reformed Church; Methodist – Britt Aerhart, Minister-Salisbury United Church; Convenor, Northern Spirit Regional Council, United Church of Canada.
  • 3:30 pm Commemorative Prayer Service for the 20th Anniversary
  • 5:00 pm Meal to be shared together
