Each year Calvin Institute of Christian Worship at Calvin University (a university of Christian Reformed Church in North America in Grand Rapids, Michigan) hosts an internationally-recognized on-site symposium on Christian Worship and worship renewal. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s symposium will be offered online and at no-cost.

This is an incredible learning and networking opportunity for both clergy and laity alike and may just be the life-giving winter commitment that will help lend some buoyancy and creative energy to the coming long winter months.  Calvin will be offering 20 livestream worship services and 20 webinar sessions weekdays from January 6-26, 2021. Point your browser toward https://worship.calvin.edu/symposium/ for more information and to register at no-charge.

Another incredible opportunity are Calvin’s Vital Worship Grants, which are “designed to foster, strength, and sustain well-grounded worship in congregations throughout North America.” There are two grant-application and worship renewal grant-and-project tracks you can apply for: one track for teachers and scholars and a second track for worshipping communities pursuing intergenerational faith formation and Christian discipleship. Head to https://worship.calvin.edu/grants/ for more information and to apply. For tons and tons of helpful and thought-provoking worship resources, visit https://worship.calvin.edu/resources/ as well.

Respectfully submitted,
The Rev. Canon Lorne Manweiler,
Diocesan Canon for Worship and Liturgy
