St. Saviour Mission Welcomes Community to New SpaceWabamun Parish Holds Open House on May 10 Members of St. Saviour Mission Church hosted an open house in their new worship and gathering space located in the Dragonfly Centre next to the art gallery, at 5215-51 Street in Wabamun, on Friday, May 10. Several members of the community and St. Augustine’s Parkland in Spruce Grove enjoyed the sunshine, refreshments and conversation on the back patio. The Rev. Aaron Parsall-Myler, priest-in-charge, said the parish previously rented space in the Wabamun Seniors’ Centre and celebrated its first service in the new location on March 3. “It’s really nice not to have to set up and take down chairs every week,” said people’s warden Michelle Squance-Slade. Most of the furnishings were donated, “the altar and pulpit came from St. John the Divine in Onoway,” said rector’s warden Sandy Cornell. St. Saviour’s families have often taken part in Messy Church at St. Augustine’s and are looking forward to offering their own version for the Dragonfly Festival on Sunday, June 23.
