Spring Youth Retreat 2020for campers in junior and senior high - Friday, March 20, 2020 Anglican and Moravian youth camping programs are teaming up once again to offer a Spring Retreat for junior and senior high youth. The camp will run Friday, March 20 to Sunday, March 22 at Van-Es Camp, about 20 minutes southeast of Edmonton. Camp starts with supper on Friday and ends with lunch on Sunday. Lent 5 - A Season of RepentanceCollection of prayers for repentance and reconciliation Committed to “walking together” despite “deep differences,” the Primates of the Anglican Communion have called the churches of the Anglican Communion to a Season of Repentance around the Fifth Sunday in Lent, March 29, 2020. They commend a collection of prayers for repentance and reconciliation to use in worship. The Lent 5 resources are available for parishes to download in PDF for printing, or as a WORD document, for cutting and pasting into other documents, such as service booklets. |
Hot Mess Ecumenical Prayer and Potluck Servicehosted by Equally Anglican - Sunday, February 16, 2020 The "Hot Mess Ecumenical Prayer and Potluck Service" will be held February 16, at 4 pm, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Old Strathcona, 10037-84 Ave, Edmonton. This service will be facilitated by Pastor Erin Thomas (Lutheran), Rev. Eileen Edwards (Moravian), and Rev. Danielle Lepine (Anglican). Our goal is to have a prayer service, an intention setting Bible Study of sorts, and to share a meal with our neighbours as we seek how to best meet the needs of our Equally Anglican Community. Opportunity for Youthon the May long weekend Young Sojourners is a weekend conference held in Sorrento, BC for Anglican youth. The conference focuses on relevant themes for youth as well as community-building. St. Paul's Anglican in Edmonton is planning to take a group to this conference on the May long weekend. We will be booking a bus and there is a lot of room for other youth or youth groups to join! Ministry of Presence in EdmontonInner City Pastoral Ministry (ICPM) Seeking Full-time Pastor The Inner City Pastoral Ministry (ICPM) is an inter-denominational Christian ‘ministry of presence’ for inner city people. Partners in ICPM are members of Lutheran, Anglican, Roman Catholic and United Church denominations. The current pastor retires on May 31, 2020, thus, a full-time position is available for an ordained minister on May 31 or earlier. The pastor oversees the overall direction of the ICPM mission, objectives, and goals. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the pastor provides spiritual leadership and pastoral care largely among adults living within the urban core of Edmonton. Good Works of Edgerton and Wainwright ParishesGenerous Peanut Butter Donation to Calgary and Wainwright Food Banks During the Christmas season and in the spirit of giving, St. Thomas, Wainwright and St. Mary’s, Edgerton collected jars of peanut butter. The friendly competition started by St. Thomas’ parishioner Alice Jones and her sister Lorna who lives in Calgary netted a generous contribution to the food banks of Wainwright and Calgary. “The priest of Mary’s Abode Tom’s Doubting Establishment in the far east of the diocese celebrated a milestone birthday in early February (6th) turning 60 years young.” The Rev. Ann Marie Nicklin is pictured enjoying her “gluten-free birthday cake,” (aka fruit), after St. Thomas’ AGM. |

St. Faith's Deacon Publishes Book of Jesus-centered Reflections
The Rev. Dr. Adenike Yesufu, a vocational deacon at St. Faith’s, Edmonton, has recently published a book titled Exploring Jesus in the Bible. The book includes a Foreword message by Dr. David Williams, President, Taylor Seminary, Professor of Theology and Ethics, Director E. P. Wahl Centre.
