Young Camrose parishioner takes a leap of faith
On October 16, Leah Marshall, parishioner at St. Andrews, Camrose, arrived in the UK to begin a year of growth and adventure. She writes the following… As a 2020 university graduate, the outbreak of COVID-19 has led to many doors being closed to me. Yet other opportunities, that I never would have otherwise considered, have arisen as well. This fall I was accepted into Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) College, London, UK. HTB is “a vibrant Church of England church in the heart of London, passionate about seeing lives changed in the name of Jesus.” (htb.org). You might be more familiar with HTB as the creators of ‘Alpha!’ For more infomation visit: http://edmonton.anglican.ca/news/young-camrose-parishioner-takes-a-leap-of-faith

Temporary Storage Neededfor HTR piano Holy Trinity Riverbend church is looking for a temporary home for our grand piano, which measures 6'4" long x 5' wide. Now that our building has been closed and is for sale, we have turned the thermostat down to save in unnecessary heating bills. Our piano will not do well in these lower temperatures. We are hoping there might be a church within our diocese that has sufficient space to store it for us until we have a new building. We would be responsible for paying the moving costs, of course. Please contact the Rev. Rebecca Harris if you can help. |

An Act of Reconciliationthat keeps on giving Something happened naturally this year that I wanted to share about the impact of our chokecherry tree; the tree that we and all parishes in the diocese planted back in 2015 in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls to action. Our local elementary/junior high school (Hardisty) used the chokecherry as a place of teaching and reflection for their students on Orange Shirt Day, September 30th. (I know it is a while back, but I just received the photos now.) Classes would cycle through in turn, telling the story of the chokecherry at St. A's and also about the importance of the chokecherry in aboriginal culture. It was really lovely to see and seemed to be just the right use of that tree. It has grown a lot since we planted it. For more infomation visit:

Season 4:7Stolen Land “Go easy on one another... It’s possible in law to solve this problem.” These are the words of Dr. John Borrows as he reflects on the stolen lands and resources of Indigenous peoples in Canada. That's the topic of this week's Sacred Teachings podcast. The current series is called STOLEN and focuses on the many things that have been stolen from Indigenous people through their experience of colonization: land, water, language, culture, and much more.
