Bishop Stephen London is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Armand Mercier as Associate Priest at Christ Church, Edmonton; ministry to commence on September 1, 2022.

Bishop Stephen London will be away from the diocese from July 24 until September 6. Bishop Steve has appointed the Ven. Travis Enright, Archdeacon for Indigenous Ministries and rector of St. Faith and St. Mary, as his commissary from July 24 to August 6. The much-anticipated papal visit to Canada began Sunday with Pope Francis' arrival at the Edmonton International Airport. The Pope, now 85 years old and using a wheelchair, took the rest of that first day to recover from his international flight, then launched into a packed itinerary... 

A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for the Rev. Donald Gray will be held at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church, 8420 145 St NW, Edmonton, on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 2:30 pm.

Bishop Steve and Stephanie London had a brief time to get unpacked and explore Canterbury before the Lambeth Conference got underway on July 26.

We invite prayers for Bishop Stephen London and the Rev. Stephanie London who will be attending the 15th Lambeth Conference in Canterbury, the United Kingdom, from July 26 to August 8. A short prayer guide has been published for churches and communities. It contains an outline of what the conference covers, and prayers from Anglican religious communities around the globe.

Bishop Stephen London has released the document Finding Our Way as a blueprint for guiding the Diocese of Edmonton into the future. It begins with the Gospel at the Center and includes five Principles and 12 Goals. This week, we highlight Goal #1: Spiritual Renewal.

We will encourage and support smaller intentional gatherings of Jesus-followers with the aim of fostering personal and communal spiritual renewal. 

Watch for specific actions and milestones which will be developed in regard to this goal.

Join the Edmonton diocese as we celebrate the return of Fr. Michael Lapsley SSM to the diocese this September as part of our continued commitment to reconciliation.

Fr. Lapsley is the Canon for Healing and Reconciliation for the Diocese of Edmonton. He will work with local partners to facilitate the third Healing of Memories workshop in Edmonton. The local workshops have been designed for the Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities of Edmonton to be healers of one another; to reach a better understanding of ourselves, one another and the community we form.

Fr. Lapsley will offer a workshop, followed by facilitator training, followed by an evening public event on September 24. 

Ascension House is an intentional Christian community in the heart of the city, in the neighbourhood of Oliver. We are affiliated with the Anglican Parish of Christ Church and open to young people (18-23) who are drawn to the idea of living in community with other Christian young adults while going to school and living in Edmonton. The Studion School for Spiritual Direction offers a two-year program that combines teaching on topics relevant to the practice of spiritual direction with significant time spent in guided retreat and spiritual formation. The program is administered through The King's University in Edmonton and gatherings are held at Star of the North Retreat Centre in St. Albert. The next cohort is set to begin in January 2023.
