The Epitaphios is a Christian religious icon, typically a large embroidered cloth bearing an image of the dead body of Christ. It is sometimes used on Good Friday and Holy Saturday, and as an altar cloth through the Season of Easter. In this meditational liturgy, which consists of a series of short selected scripture readings and imaginative exercises, we humans (anthropos) will seek to be similarly cloaked; to become human altars covered in the image of the body of Christ: Anthropos Epitaphios.
