On a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon in early October, Holy Trinity in Old Strathcona welcomed back its long-standing tradition of offering a pet blessing for the Feast Day of Saint Francis! Dogs and cats came out (with their owners, naturally) and were generally well-behaved; sniffing out the pews, making new friends, and howling along with the piano as we humans attempted to sing through our giggles. The blessing of the animals is one of our community’s favourite events, and in some cases, is the only service people come to throughout the year! We are so happy to be able to offer this service again and to have the opportunity to enjoy reconnecting with some of our community and, of course, hanging out and playing with all the animals!
