The ASSIST Taste of Heritage Festival 2026 is a student-led, free community event that celebrates culture, community, and inclusion through food samples, performances, and interactive activities. The ASSIST Community Services Centre is committed to serving the community at large by providing programs and services that meet a variety of needs for newcomers, including LINC language programs, settlement services, youth programs, and more.

Highlights include:

  • A variety of ethnic food samples, traditional teas, coffees, and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Live performances, a Heritage Fashion Exhibition, and cultural showcases
  • Interactive stations with calligraphy, henna, face painting, crafts, and traditional games

This year’s festival will feature the vibrant cultures of 24 countries: Afghanistan, China, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Honduras, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Morocco, Tanzania, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela, among others, along with Bent Arrow, representing Indigenous organizations in Alberta.
