The Rev. Dominique Ciza of Buyé diocese sent a message to the Edmonton synod office this week saying, “The confirmation season started yesterday (Sunday, July 14).”
Indeed it did! 142 candidates from the parishes of Gashikanwa, Rusengo and Mubanga were confirmed in St. Paul parish church. What a cause for celebration!
Plus, another reason to rejoice is that parishioners have built a new vicarage in St. Paul parish, a work which Rev. Ciza says, “was highly appreciated by our Bishop Sixbert.”
(The old vicarage is the building with white wall, the new one is the brick building. The final photo includes the priests from the three parishes represented in the confirmation service, two members of the Mothers’ Union, including Bishop Sixbert’s wife, Clothilde, and several catechists, including those who are trained through the support of Edmonton diocese.)
