Looking for grant funding for your parish? Operational grant funding is typically unavailable to churches, but there are other options for community project-based grant funding.

Grants can be a possible source of funding for churches, particularly if seeking funds for certain types of capital projects, such as accessibility upgrades, solar panel installation, or other areas that align with municipal or provincial priorities.

When considering grant funding, carefully note the eligibility requirements, as many granting bodies do not allow funding to go to churches or other religious organizations. Taking time to determine eligibility can save hours or days on applications that will not go anywhere.

Also, keep in mind that the Anglican Foundation of Canada has been awarding special ministry project and community partnership grants for 65 years. So, don't lose heart if your community or capital project doesn't qualify for a local community grant; it may be approved for an AFC grant.
