We are sorry to announce that the Rev. Canon Dr. Scott Sharman will soon end his employment as Canon to the Ordinary and Executive Officer of the Diocese of Edmonton. First appointed to diocesan roles as Educational Chaplain and Ecumenical Coordinator in 2012, and later Theologian in Mission in 2017, Scott has provided leadership in theological education and ecumenical/interfaith ministries in the diocese for many years, and has been essential to the work of institutional change in our church most recently through his role in animating work around our diocesan strategic plan.
The next chapter in Scott's calling will take him into a full-time ministry with the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada in a new position as Senior Advisor for Unity, Faith, and Order in the Office of the Primate and General Secretary. His final day working in the diocese will be July 31; however, his last day in the Synod Office will be June 30. We wish him every blessing on the next steps in his ministry journey in our church.
While he will no longer be employed with the diocese, we are pleased to announce that he will continue to reside in Edmonton and to be involved in the life of the diocese in the honorary role of Canon Theologian of the Diocese of Edmonton.
