Fostering a "Safe Church" Environment

Diocesan Chancellor Ms. Lois MacLean K.C. (pictured) was a presenter at Clergy Day, held on September 29 at All Saints’ Cathedral. MacLean, who is also Chair of the Diocesan Advisory and Response Team (DART) spoke to the clergy and lay people leading diocesan ministries for vulnerable people about Safe Church practices. The Ven. Susan Oliver, Archdeacon for Children and Family Ministry and a member of DART, reviewed updated Safe Church guidelines. Prior to Clergy Day, all were required to complete an online module on “Protecting Our Children, Youth and Vulnerable Adults: Creating a Safe Church Environment.” Watch The November issue of The Messenger for a story on Clergy Day by the Rev.
