Great Start to September for St. Thomas'

For the second year in a row St. Thomas’, Wainwright is taking up the $5-5 Ways Challenge in support of an initiative by the Buyé Mothers' Union to help senior citizens and less advantaged families purchase a medical card for $5. With this card, our brothers and sisters in Christ in Buyé receive 80% medical coverage for a full year.  

St. Thomas’ also prayed for students and teachers heading back to school during the Blessing of the Backpacks portion of the service.  

Photographer Allan Samm notes that the art displayed on the wall behind parishioners holding up their five dollar bills was created by members of the local art group which meets in St. Thomas’s hall every Tuesday and Thursday.
