This week, the Synod Office received pictures of the inside of the new extension to the pediatric ward in Buyè Diocese. Both the inside and outside of the building are now finished.
The Rev. Dominique Ciza, Diocesan Secretary and Health and Christian Education Coordinator, sends this message:
“The pediatric ward is having 2 big rooms for patients, 1 room for drug and files store, 1 room where a nurse on duty can sleep during the night, and 1 bathroom. By the time we planned to construct such infrastructure, we saw that the existing pediatric ward is very small, and that patients were very congested indeed at the point of having three children on one bed. But also the hospital does not have not have enough beds. So with the new building, patients will have decent rooms, and will be admitted separately according to their pathologies, but the hospital and Buyè Diocese have to avail more beds to accommodate all the needy patients.”
