The Rev. Dr. Eric Law led a Clergy Day and a Diocesan Day in the Edmonton diocese on the topic of Leadership in a Time of Fear. Law is the Executive Director of the Kaleidoscope Institute and an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Los Angeles.
In the course of the presentation, Law spoke about how one can be a gracious leader. He shared specific stories of success in other parishes in North America and introduced tools, such as Respectful Communication Guidelines, mutual and gracious invitation, that can be used to widen the space between comfort and fear, allowing interaction and dialogue to happen in the “Grace Margin.”
Law spent the day speaking, both theoretical and practically, on how we can build missional, sustainable and multicultural ministries by using a few simple tools to better engage with those other than us. His emphasis was on empowering people to be active participants in God’s actions of reconciling the world.
On Sunday Law preached at Holy Trinity. Submitted by the Ven. Chris Pappas, rector, Holy Trinity, Old Strathcona
