The team of four from St. Luke's are now well into their week-long vacation bible school in Fort Liard, NT! They were greeted warmly when they arrived, and were quickly introduced to members of the community, including Father Joe, who has responsibility for ten northern communities and is based in Fort Simpson, Barney, who is hosting the team, and Rosie, a lay leader in the local church.
They also had a visit from a bison, right outside their living room window!
The first day of the camp, they really didn't know whether any children would come. It's been six years since On Eagles' Wings has sent a team to Fort Liard, and they are strangers, after all. The team set up the craft table out by the main road for visibility, and one by one, the children came. The team had ten the first day and seven more new kids the second day.
A large group of supporters from St. Luke's and beyond are praying for the team. Please pray along with them for a successful and encouraging week sharing the love of Jesus with our northern brothers and sisters.
