St. Luke's Goes North

A team from St. Luke’s, Edmonton met with On Eagle’s Wings staff last week, in preparation for a trip to the Northwest Territories. They received an introduction to vacation bible school curriculum and northern culture from Kathy-Lynn and the Rev. Lesley Hand. The team of four – Rebecca Pinto, Cathy Allen, Karen MacDonald and St. Luke rector, the Ven. Richard King – will run the VBS in the community of Fort Liard, NWT from July 30 to August 3. The idea to take on this mission took form very quickly. On Eagle’s Wings approached St. Luke’s in May and managed to secure a grant in June to cover most of the costs. The team is very excited for this adventure, but there is a lot to do! Please pray for the preparations, the travel, and most of all for the interactions they will have with the community in Fort Liard.
