In 2017, St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Vegreville organized its first ever Nativity Festival. With the help of the Rev. Laureta Blondin and parishioners who shared a passion for collecting nativities from around the world, the festival included more than 100 nativities on display with stories and meaning behind each one.

Over a cup of hot chocolate, visitors from the community were invited to come and enjoy the stories and history behind each display. The Nativity Festival quickly became an annual Christmas tradition for families in the community.

This year would have marked the fourth year of St. Mary’s Annual Nativity Festival. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and new restrictions, the in-person festival was postponed until 2021. However, with many thanks to faithful and passionate folks at St. Mary’s we were able to collect photos of some of our favourite nativities and create a video for all share and see. We invite you to grab a hot chocolate, get comfortable and enjoy our Annual Nativity Festival virtually!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing this Advent season.
