The Capital Region Interfaith Housing Initiative (now known as Edmonton Interfaith Housing Society), began in 2011 with a commitment from 23 religious and spiritual community leaders, including Anglican Bishop Jane Alexander, “to eliminate homelessness in our community.” Since then, CRIHI has been focused on providing affordable housing and facilitating healthy neighbourhood conversations, which it sees as key factors in ending homelessness and poverty. In 2016, CRIHI partnered with the Anglican Diocese of Edmonton, the Anglican Foundation of Canada and EndPovertyEdmonton to produce the End Poverty Action Guide.
