The Season of Creation is as an annual time of prayer, education and action. During the Season of Creation, we join our sisters and brothers in the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home.
The theme for the 2021 Season of Creation is A Home for All? Renewing the Oikos of God. Oikos is the Greek word for "home" or "household."
Beginning September 1, the Day of Prayer for Creation, and running through October 4, the Feast of St. Francis (patron saint of ecology), Christians across the ecumenical spectrum are encouraged to join together in prayer for creation and environmental stewardship.
The momentum continues long after the season ends through ongoing prayer and lifestyle changes that uphold the Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
