Bishop Stephen London welcomed the Rt. Rev. Dr. Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian, from Madhya Kerala Diocese, Kerala India, along with the Rev Binu Philip and the church committee of CSI Ascension Church Edmonton, for fellowship at the Synod Office and All Saints’ Cathedral.on April 4, Tuesday in Holy Week. Bishop Steve explained that Kerala is a Christian heartland in India and there is a diaspora of Anglicans from Kerala around the world. In Canada, there are large congregations in Edmonton, as well as Vancouver and Toronto. The Church of South India was inaugurated in 1947 by the union of the South India United, the southern Anglican diocese of the Church of India, Burma, Ceylon, and the Methodist Church in South India. It is one of the four United Churches in the Anglican Communion. The Bishops exchanged gifts from their dioceses and Bishop Steve is pictured wearing the pectoral cross he received from Bishop Sabu.
