The City of Edmonton is looking for organizations that provide training and employment placement for the following groups:

  • Apprentices
  • Indigenous peoples
  • Women
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Veterans
  • Youth
  • Recent immigrants

The City’s Corporate Procurement and Supply Services Branch, with the assistance of EndPovertyEdmonton, is creating a social procurement policy. Businesses that provide goods or services to the City will be encouraged to show how their operations add social value that directly benefits our community. To help the business community incorporate social value benefits into their operations, the City will make available a list of organizations that provide employment training and placement of individuals. The list will continue to grow and change as organizations are added to the list. If you would like your organization’s name included on this list, complete the form available at edmonton.ca/socialprocurement. The City will pilot the policy by adding social value criteria into some procurement opportunities before the policy is presented to City Council later in 2019.
