With the men of the parish at the helm, Immanuel Anglican Church held a successful pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday. Up to 50 people attended the supper in person and a few families opted for the takeout option. Organising, serving and cleaning up after the Shrove Tuesday meal has become a tradition for the men of Immanuel, Wetaskiwin. This year, Mardi Gras accessories added an element of fun to the already joyful feast. One of the church members had amassed beads from a trip to New Orleans, and the Rev. Hugh Matheson, rector, suggested they would be perfect for the parish pancake party. Everyone was given a set of beads to wear, and a few people brought their own Mardi Gras accessories to complete their look. Plates of pancakes, sausages and fruit were served and eaten in fine style. Many thanks to the men of Immanuel! Submitted by Carol Blair, Immanuel, Wetaskiwin
