Prayer for Australia

Prayer for Australia

Parts of Australia, including Sydney, have received rain bringing some relief to the wildfires. Please continue to pray with Archbishop Philip Freier, Anglican Primate of Australia.

All things look to you, O Lord,
to give them their food in due season:
look in mercy on your people,
and hear our prayer for those whose lives
and possessions are threatened by fire.
Give protection and wisdom to fire fighters
and other emergency service personnel.
Encourage our generosity to those who suffer loss.
In your mercy restore your creation and heal our land.
So guide and bless your people,
that we may enjoy the fruits of the earth
and give you thanks with grateful hearts,
through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

'Tis the season of helping to feed someone in need in our community!

'Tis the season of helping to feed someone in need in our community!

In the spirit of giving, the Synod Office and All Saints’ Cathedral are having a friendly competition to see who can bring in the most non-perishable food donations for Edmonton’s Food Bank. The food bank’s annual Festive Campaign will run until January 10, and we want to help them reach their goal of collecting 370,000 kilograms of food! If you’d like to help us, just drop by the Cathedral and leave a donation under the tree in the narthex - you can't miss it. THANK YOU!

A Heartfelt Farewell

A Heartfelt Farewell

Sunday, January 5, 2020 marked the end of an era at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Edmonton. After 20 years of faithful service, St. John’s rector the Rev. Both the junior and senior choirs participated in leading worship, two children of the parish Stephanie Okolo and Soren Hendricks read the scriptures and incoming rector the Ven. Richard King preached the sermon. A key part of the service was a piece of liturgy titled ‘The Ending of a Pastoral Relationship.’
