A Good Future

Parishioner Survey Deadline Extended to April 24Listening in Spirit | Shaping Our Future Together In this time of transformation and newness of life, we ask you to think about your parish community and its current reality: In what areas are you flourishing? In what areas are you struggling? What do you envision our future as a family of 46 parishes to be like? Led by Anna Bubel, Another Way Consulting, and supported administratively by Jacqui Chesterton, a member of our diocesan family, we are embarking on the next phase of the Finding Our Way strategic planning journey. A leader in your parish may have shared with you a link to a short, online survey that all members of the Diocese of Edmonton are asked to complete. To enable as many people as possible to participate, the survey deadline has been extended to April 24. You can link to the survey below. If you require a print version of the survey, please ask your parish leader to print one for you. By Bread Alone: Lenten Book StudyI am the bread of life (John 6:35) This year, St. Columba in Beaumont engaged in a Lenten bread study. Inspired by the book By Bread Alone: A Baker's Reflections on Hunger, Longing, and the Goodness of God by Kendall Vanderslice (Tyndale 2023), we reflected theologically each week on one of the main ingredients that form a loaf of bread: flour, water, yeast, salt, heat and time. We discovered that these are all important biblical images, and each has something to teach us about our relationship with God, each other, and God's creation.
