Bishop's Itinerary
Bishop Steve London has hit the ground running in his new role in the Edmonton diocese and in the Anglican Church of Canada. His ambition is to visit every parish in the diocese as soon as possible. The following events are part of his itinerary for the next few weeks:

Holy Trinity Speaker Series

The Fringe Festival is returning to Holy Trinity, Old Strathcona in the summer of 2022! Centering Prayer Groups Invite Participation
You are invited to join one of several Centering Prayer Groups meeting in person or online. Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer; rather it casts a new light and depth of meaning on them. It is at the same time a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. This method of prayer is a movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with him. All Saints', Drayton Valley is in need of up to 20 extra copies of the Common Parise hymnal. If you have extra copies, please either reach out to the Rev. Confirmation with Kokum2nd Session Sunday, October 24, 1 pm Confirmation with Kokum will be led together by the Rev. Nick and Elisa Hillier. It is open to any baptised person seeking confirmation aged 10+. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about and explore the faith of our baptism through the Creeds and Scripture, as well as through Elisa’s teachings about the Four Directions and Seven Sacred teachings which have shaped her faith as an Indigenous follower of Jesus. Gatherings for teachings will be in person at St. Luke’s, October 24 and Nov 7, 14, at 1 pm. Masking and distancing are required for youth; vaccinations are required for those ages 12 and over. Opportunity to LearnMeetings on again with some restrictions in place Calling all grandmothers, grandfathers, and seniors in general! Here is a chance to become better acquainted with Indigenous teachings. St. Faith's Anglican Church and Creating Hope Society in Edmonton are hosting a weekly series called Teachings of the Drum. All Kokums and Mosums (Cree for Grandmother and Grandfather) are invited to join weekly teaching, conversation and events focusing on drum teachings. Interfaith Housing Workshop"Help Me Heal!": How Wraparound Housing and Community Structures Aid Healing - Thursday, October 28, 2021

"Does Faith Matter?"A Common Word Christian/Muslim Dialogue We invite you and interested community members to join us this year in our annual A Common Word Christian/Muslim Dialogue on October 30, 2021, 9:30am-1:00 pm. International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted ChurchSunday, November 7, 2021 Every November, hundreds of thousands of believers across the world join together in prayer for Christians who experience persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ. This year, the need for prayer seems even more urgent as we witness the challenges faced by millions of Christians around the world. The stories we’re receiving daily from our brothers and sisters living where faith costs the most are clear: your prayers make a difference, helping them stay as a light in the darkness in the toughest places. Sunday, November 7, 2021 is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Inspired by Hebrews 12:28, this year’s theme is Unshakeable Faith. RESTORE Virtual ConferenceNovember 19-20 Renovare Canada, a spiritual formation community, is hosting an online/virtual conference on November 19-20. The RESTORE conference will look through Scripture as we seek to understand that which shapes our call as Christians and the work of God in restoring humanity taken up by the church. Come and hear from our guest speakers as we cover such things as the solicitude of God and how this is to be taken up in our own lives, the wonder of creation and how to live well within the created order, and the practice of presence with God and with people.
