Executive Assistant to the Bishopfull-time employment opportunity The Synod Office is soliciting applications for the full-time position of Executive Assistant to the Bishop. The Executive Assistant to the Bishop is an employee of the Anglican Diocese of Edmonton, working under the supervision of the Bishop to provide administration in a collaborative and positive work environment. Principal duties include assisting with all aspects of internal and external communications; managing the Bishop’s schedule; helping to organize diocesan services and events; and providing administrative leadership and support to members of the Synod Office. Bishop Stephen to Receive Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal
Her Honour, the Honourable Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, will present The Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta) to Bishop Stephen London on November 15 2022 at Government House. According to the Lt-Gov.'s office, Bishop London, who leads the Anglican Diocese in Edmonton, is receiving the commemorative medal because of his "leadership and counsel during Her Late Majesty’s passing and mourning period." The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal will be awarded to 7,000 Albertans throughout 2022 in recognition of their significant contributions to the province. |
Celebration of Life for Glenn Huntington Ash
There will be a Celebration of Life for Glenn Huntington Ash, father of Ann Marie Nicklin, retired priest of the Edmonton diocese, on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Saskatoon, at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PWRDFof the Anglican Church of Canada or a charity of your choice.

Reconciliation and Reparation WorkshopThe Give Away: Where Repair, Reciprocity, and Reconciliation Meet - Saturday, November 5, 2022 In this exciting day-long event hosted by the Micah Centre (The King's University 9125 50 Street Northwest Edmonton), NADC, King's, and friends from KAIROS Prairies North and Mennonite, Anglican, and Christian Reformed communities, participants will learn about the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual roots of reparations and reciprocity. Join workshop leader Travis Enright, Archdeacon for Reconciliation and Decolonization, and others as they consider the role we can play in repairing broken relationships and building communities of reciprocity and hope. Accessible and Inclusive Church - a ConversationSaturday, November 19, Good Shepherd Anglican Church The Ven. Jordan Haynie Ware, Archdeacon for Justice, and the Disability Inclusion Team invite you to an inaugural conversation on accessibility and inclusion on Saturday, November 19, from 1 to 3 pm at Good Shepherd Anglican Church, 15495 Castle Downs Road in Edmonton. The conversation will be centered on a question: "What makes a church community accessible and inclusive?" We are inviting conversation, stories, experiences, and more questions to help shine a light and start the journey together to envision a more inclusive church. We welcome anyone who is interested in ensuring we provide welcoming spaces for worship, community and mission. This includes but is not exclusive to people with disabilities, seniors facing mobility or other inclusion and accessibility challenges and needs, caregivers, parents/guardians, families and allies.
