Anglicans March with Pride - and Purposereflections on the 2025 Pride Festival by the Rev. Mark Vigrass In a vibrant show of love and solidarity, over twenty Anglicans marched in the 2025 Edmonton Pride Parade on Saturday, August 23rd. Organized by Queerly Beloved, a working group under the diocesan Social Justice Committee, the contingent marked the first official Anglican presence at the parade since its inception in 1991. Marching under banners reading “Proud Anglicans,” “Queerly Beloved,” and “Anglican Diocese of Edmonton,” their participation reflected a clear commitment to affirming that 2SLGBTQ+ people are truly beloved of God. Decked out in rainbow colours and carrying placards and flags, the Anglican contingent brought both celebration and protest to the streets. “It was affirming and energizing to be greeted by thousands of people waving flags and shouting encouragement,” the Reverend Mark Vigrass, deacon at St. George’s, Edmonton, shared. “To walk with and among people who accepted and affirmed me as a beloved queer child of God—and extended that affirmation to others—was deeply moving.” For more infomation visit: http://edmonton.anglican.ca/news/anglicans-march-with-pride-and-purpose

Church Admin Corner: Backing Up Digital FilesJesus saves and so should you! When was the last time you backed up your digital files? If it was more than a few days ago, or only at our last reminder (six months ago), or you cannot remember, it is time to make a plan for secure digital storage. Here are some ways to make backups easier: - External Hard Drive: Have an external hard drive that you back up all digital files to on a weekly or monthly basis. Ideally, such a drive would be housed offsite, but it is better to have it onsite and doing the backups than having it offsite and not doing them. When dealing with digital records, it is imperative to complete regular backups. So, do not delay, back up today (and every day!). |

This year’s theme: “Peace with Creation.” At the 2025 General Synod, the Feast of the Creator was adopted as a major feast within the church calendar. The feast may be celebrated on September 1, to usher in the Season of Creation, or transferred to a Sunday within the season. Lectionary texts and trial use prayers from the Faith, Worship and Ministry Committee will be available in 2026. Fall Coffee-hour Fundraiser for Buye
Since 2018, parishes in our diocese have raised funds through an autumn coffee-hour appeal, inviting individuals to give $5 to make a difference in the lives of many of our brothers and sisters living in Burundi. Last year, people of the Edmonton diocese raised $8,077 for the Buye diocese to purchase medical cards. Each card costs $5, enabling people to save 80 per cent of the cost of medical care for a full year. Sadly, this coverage is out of reach for most people living in the Diocese of Buyé. "Throughout September, we encourage each parish to hold a collection dedicated to purchasing medical cards. All funds collected go directly to this worthwhile cause, and there are no administrative fees," said the Rev. Rebecca Harris and the Rev. Danielle Key, who started the initiative six years ago. Please send all donations directly to John Gee, diocesan treasurer, at the Synod Office. Individuals can also donate online through the diocesan website - select "Buye Medical Cards" from the dropdown menu. BULLETIN INFO | POSTER |

We have created a form to simplify this task.
