Pray for Base Camp 2018!
23 teens and tweens are heading for Base Camp, our annual diocesan Christian outdoor adventure camp. Camp Director Dr. Mark Armstrong will lead campers north to Alberta's inland ocean, Lesser Slave Lake, for the week of July 14-20. Base Camp offers fun, companionship, campfires, canoeing, sit-upon kayaking, and hiking. Please pray for the campers, volunteer staff and all the preparations! |

Summer Ice Cream Social
Save your dessert appetite! The wind-up event for Cursillo will be an ice cream social in the church courtyard, boardroom and upstairs hall at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church, 8420 – 145 Street, Edmonton, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday, August 17. Caring EvangelismHow to Live and Share Christ's Love The Rev. Tim Chesterton and Lay Evangelist Alison Hurlburt will be presenting the Stephen Ministries course 'Caring Evangelism' this Fall. The course will begin with a Friday night and all day Saturday (October 26 and 27) followed by five Tuesday evenings November 6 to December 4, from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. Location will be Christ Church, Edmonton. EfM in the DioceseSeeking Students for the 2018-2019 Course Year Education for Ministry (EfM) is seeking students for the 2018-2019 course year. Registration deadline extended! We are extending the date for new registrations. Please enquire any time before September. EfM is a four-year program of theological education for ministry, intended to help people become more grounded in their faith, and to discern their ministry in the church. Interfaith Journeys of Discovery ConferenceThursday, August 02 at 9:00AM The annual conference of the North American Interfaith Network (NAIN Connect) takes place at MacEwan University in Edmonton from July 31 through August 3. Hosted by the Edmonton Interfaith Centre for Education and Action, the program features several keynote speakers, including the Honourable Roméo Dallaire, and Dr. Marie Wilson, one of the commissioners of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. In cooperation with the United Church’s Moving Forward With Reconciliation, Inner City Pastoral Ministry (ICPM) will offer a panel discussion entitled “Edmonton’s Experience of Reconciliation and Healing” on Thursday morning, August 2 from 9:00 to 10:30 am. As well, Michelle Nieviadomy, ICPM’s Oskapewis, will lead a Standing Stones ceremony and offer insights regarding Indigenous life and wellness. St. Patrick's Transforms Churchyard into Prayer LabyrinthWhitecourt Parish Creates Contemplative Community Space For two years, the Rev. Rita Milne prayed for God’s guidance in transforming the empty lot behind St. Patrick’s church in Whitecourt. Then, one night, she dreamed of a beautiful labyrinth. At St. Patrick’s AGM in 2017, her vision for a community prayer labyrinth received unanimous support, and the parish pledged its REACH funds to help bring the project to fruition. “They said, ‘this is awesome – let’s do it!’” says Milne.
