Peter Yeung Honoured for 50 Years as a Priest of Christ

The Rev. Peter Yeung was honoured by his parish, St. Philip's, in Westlock, and Bishop Stephen London, on June 16, 2024.

"I had the joy of participating in honouring the ministry of the Rev. Peter Yeung. He is celebrating 50 years of faithful ministry as a priest of Christ," said Bishop Stephen. I met Peter back in 2004 when I first came to the diocese, and he made a joke and made me laugh. Pure Peter! Thank you for your friendship and service."

Though his ministry career began at a large church in Guelph, ON, Yeung has since served in rural communities throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.

"St Saviour's and the community of Vermilion was blessed with Peter's leadership as Rector (with his wife Helena) from 2001 to 2005," reads a post on St. Saviour's Facebook page. "Prior to that, he was the Rector for St. Mary's in Edgerton and St. Thomas in Wainwright. How fitting is it that our three parishes have joined to form Dayspring Ministries?

"From all our communities, we wish Peter and Helena continued blessings wherever his calling may be in the future. We share so many wonderful memories with them."
