St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Vegreville held its annual Lenten Quiet Day on Saturday, April It was the parish’s first Lenten Quiet Day since 2019. A Quiet Day was to have been led by Bishop Jane Alexander in 2020 but was cancelled due to the pandemic. A total of five ladies joined Rev. Laureta in prayer, discussion and fellowship. The focus of the day was on prayer: of being willing, present, and open to not just praying to God, but also being willing, present, and open to listening to God. Following a brief presentation and discussion about prayer, the day was largely devoted to individual quiet prayer time. The ladies also shared in the eucharist and enjoyed a light lunch together.
