Jennifer Rees, a new volunteer for the All Saints’ Cathedral Breakfast Program (starting in October), dropped by Wednesday morning with 13 lbs of beans, several crates of zucchinis and cucumbers and buckets of beets for the Manna Market grocery bags. The vegetables were grown by volunteers in the Green and Gold Community Garden on the University of Alberta South Campus. The organic market garden is open to the public on Tuesdays, from 6:30 to 8 pm, and on Saturdays, from 11 am to 1 pm. All proceeds support the Tubahumurize women’s Association in Rwanda. When Rees heard about Manna Market, she offered to bring a donation of surplus vegetables from the Green and Gold Garden where she also volunteers.
