Wycliffe College, University of Toronto, will lead two public, community-engagement events on Saturday, March 15, at Gateway Family Church, 4310 Black Gold Drive, Leduc. The gatherings will be hosted by Dr. Steve Hewko, Director of the Canadian Institute for Empirical Church Research.
- Connecting to Thrive: This free workshop, to be held on Saturday, March 15, 9 am to 4 pm, is intended to help church and community leaders to better understand their context through some of the resource analysis undertaken by Wycliffe's Canadian Institute for Empirical Church Research. This event is meant to encourage anyone trying to think strategically about the church’s community ministry in these challenging days. Further information and registration can be found on Eventbrite.
- Faith, Ethics, and Public Life: A New Era in Christian Engagement: This free, evening gathering to be held on Saturday, March 15, 5-7 pm, at Gateway Family Church, will be an opportunity to discuss how Christians can respond meaningfully to a growing number of ethical concerns facing our society in areas such as healthcare, technology, justice and identity. It will also be a chance to hear about Wycliffe's initiative to establish a Centre for Christian Ethics. Event information and registration is available at Eventbrite.
In addition to these free, public events, Dr. Hewko will host a Wycliffe College Alumni event on Friday evening, March 14. There are two dozen graduates in the city of Edmonton.
