Service of OrdinationWednesday, June 29, 7 pm Please join us for a special Service of Ordination on June 29, 2022, 7 pm, at All Saints' Cathedral, 10035-103 St NW, Edmonton. We are pleased to announce that Lisa Wojna will be ordained a Deacon and the Rev. Arthur Dyck will be ordained a Priest in the Diocese of Edmonton. Clergy are invited to vest. The liturgical colour is red. The service will also be live-streamed on the All Saints' Youtube channel.

Funeral Service for the Rev. Donald Gray
The Rev. Donald Gray, 85, died on June 26, 2022 at Agape Manor Hospice, with his children at his side. A funeral service will be held in Calgary, at Hillhurst United Church, on Saturday, July 2, at 10 am. Condolences and memories can be left through McInnis & Holloway. Gray expressed his gratitude for members of the Edmonton diocese in a letter he dictated to his son Jeff. Click Here to read the letter. Bishops Stephen and Larry Worship with Holy Trinity, Edson
Fellow Bishops the Rt. Rev. Stephen London and the Rt. Rev. Larry Kochendorfer from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, travelled to Edson together on Sunday, June 26 for a service with the joint Anglican/Lutheran parish of Holy Trinity and its rector the Rev. Johnny Pooten. The service was followed by a potluck and a meeting with the Shared Ministry Council. |

Kevin Kraglund Named Provincial ACPO Secretary2022 conference to be held in Edmonton This spring, the Rev. Kevin Kraglund, rector of St. Patrick’s Anglican Church in Edmonton, was appointed secretary of the Advisory Committee on Postulants for Ordination, commonly referred to as ACPO, for the Ecclesiastical Province of Rupert’s Land. He succeeds the Ven. Dr. Pilar Gateman from the Diocese of Calgary. ACPO conferences are held either annually or semi-annually in each of the four Ecclesiastical Provinces across Canada. As provincial secretary, Kraglund is organising the 2022 ACPO Conference, to be held from October 13-16, at Providence Renewal Centre in Edmonton. This gathering, an opportunity to recommend candidates for ordination to the priesthood, will be attended by candidates who sense a calling to priestly ministry, as well as assessors, chaplain, secretary, and the Rt. Rev. Stephen London, Provincial ACPO Bishop.

Retirement Dinner for Athabasca Executive Archdeacon Terry Leer
A dinner for the Ven. Canon Terry Leer, who will retire as Executive Archdeacon for the Diocese of Athabasca at the end of June, is planned for Saturday, July 2, at the Belle Petroleum Centre, 9403 94 Street, in Peace River. During 40 years of ministry, Leer served in the Edmonton diocese, and most recently in the Athabasca diocese at All Saints’ Church, Ft. McMurray; Christ Church, Grande Prairie; and the Synod Office in Peace River as Archdeacon for Mission Development and now Executive Archdeacon. Applications open for Spiritual Direction Training Program
The Studion School for Spiritual Direction offers a two-year program that combines teaching on topics relevant to the practice of spiritual direction with significant time spent in guided retreat and spiritual formation. The program is administered through The King's University in Edmonton and gatherings are held at Star of the North Retreat Centre in St. Albert. The next cohort is set to begin in January 2023. SSJD Companion Program Accepting Applications for Fall 2022
In September 2022, the Anglican monastic community of the Sisterhood of St. John the Divine will begin the fifth year of the Companions Program. Tellers' Retreat at King's FoldOctober 14-16, 2022 The Network of Biblical Storytellers Canada will host a Teller's Retreat at King's Fold Retreat Centre west of Cochrane this fall. NBSC is "an affiliation of people who practise the art and discipline of telling Christian scripture by heart." Linnea Good and Ken Quiring will facilitate. This retreat will have a contemplative component to it, as learning scripture by heart has similarities to the Ignatian way of praying. Early bird deadline is midnight on July 5, 2022. |
Neighbouring Parishes Worship Together on National Indigenous Day of PrayerIndigenous Expression of Anglican Worship an opportunity to be in good relationship Gathering outdoors against a backdrop of four tipis, nearly 60 people from four neighbouring parishes met on the National Indigenous Day of Prayer, Sunday, June 19, on the grounds of the Morning Sky Health & Wellness Society in Frog Lake, to experience an Indigenous expression of Anglican worship. This service was an opportunity for the parishes of St. Mary's, Edgerton, St. Thomas', Wainwright, and St. Saviour's Vermilion to join the Church of the Nativity, Frog Lake in an act of Reconciliation and friendship.
