• Parish Records to Archive - This document contains a listing of the items accepted by the Archives. Please prepare records as indicated in the linked document and send to the Synod Office. The Synod Office will verify that the records are properly prepared and will forward the records to the Provincial Archives.
    Please Note: The Archives does NOT accept financial records from parishes outside of the annual financial statements included with annual reports. Please do not send receipts, invoices, ledgers, offering envelopes, or other such records to be archived. For more information about the retention of financial records, please refer to the Treasurer's Handbook.

Anglican records (including completed parish registers) for the dioceses of Athabasca and Edmonton may be kept by the parish for up to 10 years, after which time they should be permanently archived.

To look for a record, please contact the parish office first. If the parish no longer has the record onsite, please contact the Provincial Archives at 780-427-1750. While the Synod Office assists with archiving and can provide guidance on how to request an item stored at the Provincial Archives, the Synod Office does not keep archival records onsite.
