The Anglican Church Women (ACW) of the Diocese of Edmonton decided to try something new for our annual meeting traditionally held on the first Saturday in May. The chapters of the ACW came together virtually on Zoom for our business meeting on Friday, May 3.
The “fun with friends” portion of the Annual was reserved for Saturday when ladies from several parishes embarked on a road trip filled with fun, fellowship and education.
Our journey began at the heritage church of St. Aidan and St. Hilda, Rexboro, located west of Edmonton near Wabamun. Elaine Dickie, ACW President, led a service of morning prayer from the Book of Common Prayer (BCP). A resident historian shared the history, pictures and stories of the church and area.
Our next stop was the Lac Ste. Anne Pilgrimage site. We had our lunch while three ladies from their parish gave the history of this important site. We all walked together to the lake.
Then we were off to the Pioneer Museum in Stony Plain for tea and pie. The Parkland area provided ample opportunity for shopping with several shops in Stony Plain and Spruce Grove to choose from. The weather was beautiful and Elaine did a wonderful job organising us.
