Bishop's Fund Dinner
The 68th annual Bishop’s Fund Dinner on November 13th got underway with a time-honoured tradition as piper Kevin Thompson led the procession of Bishop’s Fund Committee members into the banquet hall at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club. The annual dinner is the fundraiser for the Bishop’s Fund, a discretionary resource available to the bishops of the Dioceses of Edmonton and the Arctic (District of Mackenzie). The fund is used to support clergy and their families in times of need. For more infomation visit:

Pathways to RecoveryTuesday, November 19 at Beth Israel Synagogue, 131 Wolf Willow Road, Edmonton The keynote address at this event will be provided by Karen Bruno, a Cree woman from Treaty 6 Territory with 27 years experience in advocacy and networking, creative thinking and problem solving. This conversation will seek to build a shared understanding of several key factors needed to transition people from homelessness to full recovery and integration into the community. Remembrance at Immanuel
Immanuel Anglican Church in Wetaskiwin marked Remembrance Sunday on November 10th, by decorating a wreath with the poppies of all who came to church that day. In place of a bugle, we sound the naval “End of Watch” eight bells before and after the silence. The remembrance books contain what is known about each of the people memorialized on our brasses. St. Saviour's Vermilion Community Contributions
St. Savior’s Anglican Church in Vermilion has donated $2,300 to lunch programs run through the public and catholic school systems. The Vermilion Elementary School Lunch Program Society received $1,500 and $800 went to the St. Jerome’s Hot Lunch Program. All funds were raised during St. Saviour's annual rummage sale held this year on September 21. Rector the Rev. Elizabeth Metcalfe told the local newspaper, The Voice, “It’s really important for children to have food in their bellies to learn; you can’t learn when you are hungry. We would like to express our thanks to the community for their support.”

The St. Matthias ACW is hosting a Christmas Lunch and Bake Sale Nov 16, from 11 am to 2 pm, featuring a variety of cookies, tarts, loaves, squares, bars, cakes, fruit cake, muffins, pies, Filipino specialties, and more! A lunch of homemade soup and sandwiches, along with dessert and refreshments will be available at a cost of $12 for adults, $5 for children aged 3-10. Perogies and Jam8th Annual Community Gospel and Christmas Music Night St. Mary the Virgin will host Vegreville's annual Pyrogies Jam Gospel Night on Saturday November 16 at 6:30pm. This is an annual community event that St. Mary's is hosting this year. The Reign of Christ the King!St. Paul Anglican Church, 10127 – 145 Street NW, Edmonton St. Paul's Anglican Church and Interface Worship will celebrate the close the church year and the Reign of Christ the King with an alternative worship service from 7-9pm on November 23rd. We will be exploring the themes of 'God Rules From the Wood of the Cross' and 'Our Adoption into God's Royal Family'. The service will feature the extensive use of original symbols, rituals, art and imagery. The Eucharistic liturgy allows worshipers to embody the themes in a unique sacramental ritual of enduring quality and significance. Interface Worship blends ancient essence with innovative expression to create spiritually formational worship experiences. This is the 11th presentation of this liturgy. |

Calling all youth! It's that time again! Time for our Annual Great Anglican Gingerbread House Build Off! SJE Seeking Capable and Enthusiastic Children’s Minister (part-time)
The parish of St. John the Evangelist in Edmonton is looking to hire a Children’s Minister (part-time, 18-20 hours/week), to start in January of 2020. SJE is a lively and vibrant parish, and kids are a big part of that! The Children’s Minister (grades 1-6) serves as part of our larger pastoral staff, and takes responsibility for planning, staffing, and leading activities for nearly 60 children between grades 1 and 6, primarily through our 9:15 am contemporary service on Sundays. It’s a busy and joyful ministry, and you won’t be on your own. If you’re passionate about nurturing the personhood and spirituality of children in creative and engaging ways, and if you have experience in leadership of ministry or education for children (or, if this describes someone you know), please check out our ministry advertisement, with instructions on how to apply.
