Ascension House is an intentional Christian community in the heart of the city, in the neighbourhood of Oliver. We are affiliated with the Anglican Parish of Christ Church and open to young people (18-23) who are drawn to the idea of living in community with other Christian young adults while going to school and living in Edmonton. We are situated close to Macewan and Norquest. We are a short bus ride to other educational institutions. Rent is $500 a month for a private room and includes utilities and other program costs. Why not walk with others on their faith journey for a year as you encourage one another and grow in faith together? Spots are still available for the fall of 2023. Edmonton Youth Choir Hosts Free Choral Singing Event
Internationally acclaimed Edmonton youth choir Kokopelli is inviting Edmonton youth to a free, three-day choral singing event, culminating with an informal concert. The program, running July 28–30, from 1–4 pm daily, is open to youth Grade 9 and up (to age 23). No experience is required. “We’re aiming this at young people who love to sing, period. Not just those with performing experience,” said Kokopelli artistic director Scott Leithead. “A lot of those who sign up will have already sung in choirs, sure. But we’re also hoping to meet a few who have never tried anything like this before, or who can’t even read music.” Along with Leithead, attendees will also work with gifted musicians and educators including Kitbielle Pasagui, Joel Forth, and Bryan LeGrow. Travis Fick, a South African singer currently on exchange in Edmonton, will be on hand to teach songs from his own country. Those interested in registering can do so for free at Kokopelli’s website: kokopellichoirs.com. |
