Blood Donations Down in Augustat least partly due to changes in masking requirements Changes to masking requirements at Canadian Blood Services donation sites have caused a downturn in the number of people making or keeping appointments to donate. See CBC article, August 6. As of August 10, "Team Anglican" had reached 56% of this year's goal of 120 donations of blood and/or plasma. Thank you so much to those who donate regularly. If you are comfortable donating on-site, the need is still great. Find out if you're eligible to donate, then click here and enter our Partner ID: ANGL696986 to join the team. To make an appointment to donate blood, call: 1-888-236-6283 or visit Canadian Blood Services. |
Building Community One Newsletter and Social Media Post at a Time
We at the Synod Office want to say 'thank you' to those in the Edmonton diocese family who've been sharing news from Synod Scene and other diocesan publications. Likewise, we try to share parish news and events as we hear about them. Working together to reach people both within and beyond our church communities makes good sense. We know that people need to hear a message many times before taking action. (You’ve likely heard of the Marketing Rule of 7.) We appreciate every effort to work together to cut through some of the noise. Margaret and Shelly, Synod Office Communications |
Phishing Scams
The Synod Office has heard about more instances of people in the diocese receiving emails that suggest they are from Bishop Steve, usually saying he needs their help or has something for them to do right away. These are emails designed to draw people in to a scam. There is nothing the diocese can do to stop these emails, but please remember the Bishop will never contact people in this manner. Also, a close look at the email address will show it is not from the Bishop. Never click on these emails. Delete them immediately. |
