Call for Prayer in Time of Election
From the Anglican Church of Canada: The journey toward electing the next Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada is underway. This week, the House of Bishops gathers at Mount Carmel in Niagara Falls for a time of prayer, reflection, and discernment. As part of this gathering, they will prayerfully nominate three to five bishops to be presented on the ballot at General Synod. Acting Primate Archbishop Anne Germond invites the whole church to pray that the Spirit may guide the bishops in wisdom and grace.

New Diocesan Policy Upholds Commitment to Safe Church Environment
So that the Edmonton diocese continues to be a safe environment free from all forms of abuse or harassment, we have put into practice a new Safe Church Policy effective April 1, 2025. The policy can be read online and downloaded here: https://edmonton.anglican.ca/pages/safe-church . It replaces both the former Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment Policy and the former Safe Church Policy.

Christian Basics Course Coming to a Parish Near You
Retired Anglican priest the Rev. Tim Chesterton is excited to take Christian Basics, a short course about the central Gospel message, on the road. Lenten Noon-hour Concert SeriesHoly Trinity, 10037–84 Avenue NW, Edmonton Throughout the season of Lent (six weeks following Ash Wednesday), professional musicians from various musical disciplines will perform every Tuesday during the noon-hour at Holy Trinity, 10037-84 Ave NW, Edmonton. Concerts are offered in the sanctuary from 12 to 1 pm. Audience members are welcome to bring their lunch to eat during this noon-time concert. 45th Annual Good Friday Outdoor Way of the Cross"Walking Together in Hope" - Friday, April 18, 2025 Participate in the 45th Anniversary of the Outdoor Way of the Cross, an ecumenical prayer event along the streets of Edmonton’s inner city while reflecting on how the gospel values of Jesus apply to individual and public life today. All are being called to walk together in hope on Good Friday, April 18. The two-km walk will begin at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for the First Peoples, 10821 96 Street. Lenten Online Prayer Group
This Lent, Mr. Brad Lindseth CD is starting an online prayer group for people to pray the Daily Offices together twice daily except on Sundays. He intends to use the orders in the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) and the Book of Alternative Services (BAS) and is open to using other resources. Fabric Sale in Support of African GrandmothersApril 26, 9 am to 3 pm, Strathearn United Church The Edmonton Grandmothers, including several members of the local Christian community, will hold their annual Fabulous Fabric Frenzy and More Sale on Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Strathearn United Church, 8510 - 95 Ave NW, Edmonton. There will be a selection of fabric, yarn, notions and craft supplies. This will be our only fabric sale this year - we hope to see you there!!! An admission of $2 (cash only) and purchases (cash, credit card, or debit card) support grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa raising their grandchildren due to the AIDS pandemic. |
