The Diocese of Edmonton University Chaplaincy supports the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Alberta in their spiritual growth and development. The scope of the university chaplaincy goes back more than 50 years and extends from the U of A, to NAIT, to MacEwan University and beyond. It includes members of the intentional Christian community of Ascension House at Christ Church in the Oliver neighbourhood west of downtown.

The University Chaplaincy encourages students of all backgrounds and faiths to come together. Some of the chaplaincy's ministries have inlcuded:

  • Morning Prayer - Heather invites you to join her Monday to Friday, at 9:00 am, in the Multifaith Prayer and Meditation Space (HUB 176) 
  • Tea on Tuesdays - the Rev. Heather Liddell is available to meet for tea by appointment at almost any time but she is guaranteed to be in her office on Tuesdays from 2-4 pm
  • Music Therapy - join accredited music therapist Nadine Veroba, from 4-5 pm, for this Wednesday afternoon, stress-relief session. Bring an instrument or a favourite song!
  • Thursday Night Discussion Group at St. Aidan's House - students gather at 6 pm for dinner and a discussion
  • Worship Room - Sunday evening supper and worship service, starting at 6:00 pm, at St. George's Anglican Church next to Lister Hall, 11733-87th Ave, Edmonton
  • Pub Theology - pub gathering to mull over life’s big questions on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, 7:00-9:00pm at the Black Dog Freehouse
