On Friday, September 9, Good Shepherd Anglican Church gathered for our first potluck since before the pandemic. It was a beautiful night to share food from Chinese, Jamaican, Burmese, Ukrainian, English, Tex-Mex, Kenyan, Sri Lankan, Italian, and Indigenous cultures. For me, it was a hard choice between the bannock and the spring rolls for the yummiest offering, and I found myself going back for more chickpea donuts again and again. We do wish someone had thought to bring a dessert from their culture, but the prosciutto-wrapped cantaloupe did pretty well as a sweet end to the evening.
