All Saints' Museum Church Celebration Eucharist

All Saints' Museum Church Celebration Eucharist

All Saints', 6013 44 Avenue, Drayton Valley - Sunday, July 30

A celebration will be held on July 30 at the old All Saints’ Anglican Church situated at the museum in Drayton Valley at 6013-44 Avenue. The event will start with Holy Eucharist at 10:30 am with Rev. Robyn King officiating. A light luncheon and refreshments will follow.

The original church was moved from 50th Ave, the site of the present Beehive Support Services Association, 5056-50 Ave, in November 1998 to the present location and placed on a foundation. The roof was re-shingled, and the original wood of the ceiling and floor was restored. The blinds were replaced. This refurbishment was done to preserve its original state, as funds were made available from different grants.

with the Ven. Jordan Haynie Ware

The Ven. Jordan Haynie Ware, Archdeacon for Social Justice, will be leading a week-long session, "Defiance: Feminist Lessons from Scripture Today," at Sorrento Centre, beginning July 30.

Too often, “biblical womanhood” has been a term defined by submission and meekness, used to keep women in their place. Jordan Haynie Ware, of the podcast Two Feminists Annotate the Bible has found through her studies that this just doesn’t match the Scriptures as written.  POSTER

July 30 to August 4, Providence Renewal Centre, 3005 119 Street NW Edmonton

Contemplative Enneagram Retreat Facilitated by Sherry Dahl. Engaging with the Enneagram is a life-long journey, not a destination. Through a consistent practice of presence to develop greater self-awareness, we can embrace the gifts we bring to the world and confront the unconscious fears and defenses motivating us, impacting our relationship with the Divine, others, and ourselves. This mostly-silent retreat is intended for those already familiar with the Enneagram as there will be less teaching and more space for personal reflection. Opportunities will be given to share with others for those who wish to. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a journal. This retreat was previously offered in summer 2022.
