Stephen London is pleased to announce that God Willing he will ordain to the Transitional Diaconate, and to the Priesthood, Jordan Giggey, St. Mary's, Edmonton; The Rev. Lisa Wojna, St. Paul's, Leduc. The ordination will take place on Holy Cross Day, September 14, 7 pm, at All Saints' Cathedral, 10035 103 St NW, Edmonton. Members of the clergy are invited to vest. Children's Choir Welcoming Registrations for 23/24 Singing Season!
The Diocese of Edmonton Children's Choir (DECC), directed by Laura Hawley, is gearing up for its second season! The children's choir is made up of enthusiastic singers from across the diocese. The choir provides opportunities for children and youth in grade 2 and up to learn music to offer at church services and special liturgical events throughout the diocese. Christ Church Garden ConcertsWednesdays, 7 pm Summer has arrived and so, too, have Wednesday evening concerts in the beautiful gardens of Christ Church, 12116-102 Avenue NW, Edmonton. Creative Spirituality at Sorrento this SummerLocal lay evangelist leading course July 23 to 29 Weaving teacher Jamie (Ali) Hurlburt, a lay evangelist of the Edmonton diocese, is teaming up with longtime Sorrento Centre leader David Taylor to offer a course combining spiritual reflection and hands-on crafting, from July 23 to 29. A range of beginner crafty activities will be offered, and absolutely no experience is required. Sign Up for Summer Fun!
The Anglican Parish of St. Paul's, Edmonton is delighted to announce that Crosstalk Day Camp will run July 24 to 28, for kids, ages four (entering Kindergarten) to 12 years (completed grade 6). Campers are invited each day, from 9:45 am to 3 pm, for fun activities at Edmonton Christian School, 14304 - 109 Avenue, Edmonton. The camp is a collaboration between St. Paul's Anglican parish and a nearby local congregation that meets at Edmonton Christian School. The cost is $50 for the week. All Saints' Museum Church Celebration EucharistAll Saints', 6013 44 Avenue, Drayton Valley - Sunday, July 30 A celebration will be held on July 30 at the old All Saints’ Anglican Church situated at the museum in Drayton Valley at 6013-44 Avenue. The event will start with Holy Eucharist at 10:30 am with Rev. Robyn King officiating. A light luncheon and refreshments will follow. The original church was moved from 50th Ave, the site of the present Beehive Support Services Association, 5056-50 Ave, in November 1998 to the present location and placed on a foundation. The roof was re-shingled, and the original wood of the ceiling and floor was restored. The blinds were replaced. This refurbishment was done to preserve its original state, as funds were made available from different grants. Sorrento Summer Course: Defiance: Feminist Lessons from Scripture Todaywith the Ven. Jordan Haynie Ware The Ven. Jordan Haynie Ware, Archdeacon for Social Justice, will be leading a week-long session, "Defiance: Feminist Lessons from Scripture Today," at Sorrento Centre, beginning July 30. Too often, “biblical womanhood” has been a term defined by submission and meekness, used to keep women in their place. Jordan Haynie Ware, of the podcast Two Feminists Annotate the Bible has found through her studies that this just doesn’t match the Scriptures as written. POSTER

Spiritual Exercisesof St. Ignatius of Loyola Loyola Press, a major source of references on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, describes the exercises as “a compilation of meditations, prayers, and contemplative practices developed by St. Ignatius of Loyola to help people deepen their relationship with God.” The exercises are a structured and guided approach designed to uncover the heart of our call to serve God and God’s people. Compassion Camp
Compassion Camp is a five-day summer camp program for children ages five and up. Each day has its own theme, music, crafts and activities all centered around small simple acts of compassion. Children over 14 will get to participate in camp as a Leader-In-Training, gaining both the benefits of the daily lessons and an opportunity to share their strengths as they assist our younger campers during crafts and games. Youth and Young Adults Wilderness Canoe Tripon the Lower Red Deer River On August 13 to 20, the Diocese of Athabasca is leading a beginner friendly canoe trip for youth ages 12-20 (grades 7 and up), on the placid waters of the Lower Red Deer River weaving through the Canadian Badlands. Days will be structured around times of prayer, food, camp chores, and paddling. The trip begins just south of Red Deer and finishes in Drumheller. The trip dates accommodate a day of travel on either end. The cost is "pay what you can" at a suggested cost of $250 to cover meals and transportation.
